International Widows Day Celebrated In India

The Shrimati Pushpa Wati Loomba Trust, celebrated International Women\'s Day in
association with Overseas Indian Facilitation Centre(OIFC) by arranging a
charity programme at the residence of Sir Richard Stagg, British High
Commissioner to India, with a conscious effort to make women aware about the
need to look seriously into betterment of their health. The programme was then
adjourned for Lunch at his place. Mr. Mukul Anand and Ms. Neenu Khanna from
Immaculate
explained the need to celebrate such a day, where problems of women can always be
brought into
the forefront, discussed and solutions can be thought of. As a part of the
celebrations, S.L. Bambri (Country Head of Loomba Trust), , Ms Shubha Rajan
(Director Overseas Indian Facilitation Center and Confideration Of Indian Industry)
was also present in the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr.Mukul Anand from Immaculate said "Through
International
Widows Day, we hope to mobilize public and private resources towards tangible
outcomes for
widows, such as education to provide a more reliable way forward to ensure the
world's most
vulnerable people are not consigned to a life of poverty and destitute." He also
distributed bed
sheets and towels to all the widows and children present there. He also contributed
by announcing
a free course to widows and their children from Institute or Real Estate, Finance
and Investment,
which would help disadvantaged children to gain an education so they can get a job,
and be able to
support their families. Certificates were also distributed to widows and their
children who got trained by Dr. Blossom Kochhar, leading international personality
in the world of Hair Design and Beauty
